DESCRIPTION:  THE LA'IE SUMMIT TRAIL IS A GRADUAL, GRADED, RIDGE TRAIL THAT INTERSECTS AND TERMINATES ALONG THE KOOLAU SUMMIT TRAIL (KST). VIEWS OF THE WAIANAE RANGE, MT. KA'ALA, AND WESTERN COAST OF NORTH OAHU CAN BE SEEN FROM THIS SUMMIT.

THE FIRST 2.8 MILES OF THE TRAIL FOLLOWS THE LA'IE FALLS TRAIL. THIS TAKES YOU ALONG A DIRT ROAD, WHICH LEADS UP TO A PINE FOREST, AND THROUGH AN EXTENDED GUAVA TUNNEL BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE INTERSECTION FOR THE FALLS. THE REMAINING 2.1 MILES CONTOURS ALONG THE SIDE OF THE RIDGE WHILE OFFERING AN UNUSUAL VIEW OF THE NORTHERN KOOLAU SPINE.

CONTINUING NORTHWEST FROM THE LA'IE SUMMIT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE PUPUKEA SUMMIT AND SOUTHEAST TO POAMOHO.
