DESCRIPTION:  ON A CLEAR DAY THIS CHALLENGING EXTENSION TO THE TRIPLER RIDGE TRAIL OFFERS INCREDIBLE VIEWS OF KANEOHE AND THE WINDWARD COAST.

THE APPROACH BEGINS IN MOANALUA VALLEY AND JOINS TRIPLER RIDGE USING THE LAST INTERSECTING TRAIL TO TRIPLER (TYPICALLY USED FOR TRIPLER'S DESCENT). AFTER ARRIVING AT THE END OF TRIPLER PROCEED TRAVERSING WESTWARD ALONG THE NARROW CREST OF THE KOOLAU RANGE TO ARRIVE AT PU'U KEAHI A KAHOE. A USGS MARKER CAN BE FOUND THAT OFFICIALLY MARKS THE SUMMIT. THE RETURN PATH DESCENDS THE RIDGE DIRECTLY SOUTH OF THE USGS MARKER AND REJOINS MOANALUA VALLEY CREATING A COUNTER-CLOCKWISE LOOP.
